Abstract

In this chapter, the author provides the lie-catcher with no less than fifteen scientifically based guidelines. The guidelines presented in this chapter are based upon psychological principles and research regarding deception and lie detection. This comprehensive and up-to-date chapter brings together most of what is known in the field of interviewing to detect deception, and thus should be especially useful for those working in the field.
