    Abstract

Foster for Portsmouth is a film commissioned in 2012 by Portsmouth City Council's Foster Care Team to promote fostering in the Portsmouth area. PCC saw a short film as the perfect tool to appeal to potential new foster care applicants and further the reach of their recruitment drive. The film features actual carers and foster children who describe both the process and logistics of foster care, but also explore the human side of the role from an emotional standpoint. The film cleverly switches between testimony and a series of vivid and enchanting animated sequences that evoke and reflect the experiences of the interviewees.
