title = "Investigation of a lattice gas model for surface gravity waves",
abstract = "A recently proposed lattice gas model for simulating surface waves at a free boundary is described in detail. Simulated waves are compared to linear theory and are seen to compare well, provided an additional parameter ϵ is introduced. This parameter, ϵ , is investigated and found to be required due to the density gradient produced across the fluid by the gravitational interaction. Its value and the values of the other model parameters are found for a range of gravitational strengths.",
