Abstract
In the last century, scientific and technological advances were subject to a greater rapidity of change than in previous centuries. This has its economic, social and educational repercussions, as well as in many other areas, raising the need for basic citizenship training that allows individuals to recognize and interpret the changes that are taking place around them. This requires permanent training from teachers and from their students, the need to learn to select, rank and use the information they receive through new technological means. On the other hand, it is necessary to overcome the distance to achieve a continuous updating of the knowledge of professionals, particularly in regions far from the main centers of educational activity, such as in the interior of Uruguay.
