    Abstract

    Many organisations operate in an international arena and at some point the organisation may need to consider an international assignment to help fulfil the resourcing requirements. The HR professional can play a crucial role in managing international assignments to ensure successful resourcing outcomes. This article focuses upon the types of assignments commonly used, the recruitment and selection of assignees and the initial support to be provided.
