    The article reviews changes in the higher education student market, with specific reference to the changes impacting on universities in August 2012. It considers the impact of higher fees; the ability of universities to recruit as many stduents who ganied ABB+ in their A-levels, or equivalent; and different impcats in different parts of the UK
