Abstract
This output is part of the project News for Nature: Communicating Threats to the Conservation of Primates in Guinea-Bissau’s Media (Primaction), funded by the Born Free Foundation, aimed to make primate conservation visible and a central theme for the Guinea-Bissau society. We produced an exclusive track composed by world-renowned Guinea-Bissauan musician Karyna Gomes. In this song called Mato I Bida (The forest is life), Karyna sings in Guinean Kriol about the importance of the forests for the population and for the fauna in Guinea-Bissau. The song opens with the words of Dame Jane Goodall, who kindly agreed to take part in this musical experience.
