On the basis of interviews with key personnel and an examination of force missing person policies, the report outlines the main areas which need to be addressed by officers required to revise or prepare force policy. Examples of good practice are included. The report provides new empirical data on the volume of missing person cases reported to the police, and the outcomes recorded.
