Abstract
Notes An artist's book - portrait concertina 165 x 290mms (cover & page) x 1860mms (extended width). Hard backed, cloth bound cover in grey using vintage pianola-roll The roll is loosely backed with fluorescent paper (90gsm) which is exposed through the ‘notes’ throughout the pages.
The mechanically punched out holes evidence sound past but the rhythm and patterns are transferred to delight the visual sense and give permanence to the fleeting notes. The booked exposes the strong aesthetic and tactile delight of that which ordinarily would never be seen.Signed and numbered. 2020
The book was first exhibited as part of Love and Music, a collective artists’ book exhibition in Kiev, Russia 2020.
