Abstract
The paper aims to demonstrate a practical example of revitalizing a building,
representative of the traditional regional architecture of the Devetaki Plateau, using typical regional materials and techniques, and in collaboration with local craftsmen. Following the studies, an abandoned traditional mill in the village of Karpachevo is selected with massive local stone walls. In July 2019, a student workshop was held with a series of roof repair and timber construction activities based on a new structural design project for rehabilitation and strengthening of the roof structure. The project is a good practice example of collaboration between academy, local administration, local NGO and a UK preservation trust.
