    Abstract

The majority of UK Master's or Bachelor's degree programmes require an individual project or dissertation which forms a significant proportion of the final mark; at MSc often as much as a third of the overall mark. Clearly, a good learning experience is vital for the future of both the student and, by implication, their future employer. The material in this paper is based upon 20 years of supervision in the Business & Engineering domains.
