Abstract
This article examines the merging of texts and intertextuality in the "Star Trek/X-Men" crossover comic published by Marvel and Paramount in 1998. The manner in which the teaming-up of famous characters from both franchises produces a common ground for fans and thereby creates a new market for the industry to promote is investigated. The author also shows how the cross-market nature of the comic is fully laid bare considering the ways in which the comic was released.
