Remote representation: A puppetry sensitization project in Nairobi

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceeding › Chapter (peer-reviewed) › peer-review

Abstract

This chapter discusses a community-based project using puppetry in Nairobi to deliver messages about lung health. The discussion contextualizes the process, the delivery of this cross-cultural project and the ways the puppet identities changed. The authors from Kenya and the UK argue that puppets representing local identities, built in the UK, changed meaning and their cultural connotation when they were brought to life by resident artists in Kenya.
