Abstract
Looking back at the stunning economic growth in many Asian countries in the recent past and their tremendous buoyancy in the recent global financial crisis, one can easily realize that there is some truth in the prevailing forecast that the twenty-first century will be “the Asian century”. Many Western business entities have already relocated their principal business activities in Asia and increasingly many are setting up their business offices there. Coming out of the recent financial turmoil and recession Western governments seem to be very eager to do business with many Asian emerging economies for their own economic prosperity and political stability. Many Western law firms have also established their offices in many well-known business centres in Asia, even some international arbitration centres seem to make their presence felt in such locations.
