Abstract
Reviews the Queen's Bench Division judgment in Giggs v News Group Newspapers Ltd dismissing the claimant's application for relief from the striking out of an interim non-disclosure injunction, restraining the publication of details on a footballer's alleged extra-marital affair, and a damages claim under the CPR r.3.9. Highlights the need for extensions of time that interfere with third party rights under the European Convention on Human Rights 1950 art.10 to be necessary and proportionate.
