    Abstract

Magnetotellurics is of one the most important and extensively applied research and exploration methodologies in electromagnetic geophysics engineering. At the same time, many educational difficulties are reported concerning the level of comprehension and the depth of understanding on the part of learners, as well as the development, by tutors, of educational tools and methods for effective teaching of the various aspects of magneto telluric theory. A software bundle was developed to provide configurable modeling and simulation tools of impedance tensor and distortion tensor decompositions, as well as Mohr circle topology, all in the context of different, user-definable geoelectric structure symmetries. Indicative examples are presented that demonstrate the application of the various software modules in studying interesting magnetotelluric theoretical aspects and problems
