Abstract
This paper discusses the Latest Concepts in Distributed Systems. Distributed systems can be defined as a process of several computing entities collaborating to run as a single transparent computer. The goal is to get many different types of computer systems working seamlessly as one system. One example of this is the Internet computing environments we all use every day. This paper looks at three latest areas in distributed systems namely Self-healing systems, Dynamic Distributed Systems and Grid Computing. This paper surveys the architecture associated with the concepts mentioned above in addition to the models associated with each of these three concepts. The paper also deals with the middleware associated with each of these concepts. The paper ends with the prediction for the future in these areas with the advances in wired and wireless networking environments.
