Abstract

A method for the synthesis of pure samples of the amphiphile 4-n-heptadecylamido-4'-nitrostilbene (4-HANS) is described in detail, together with the Langmuir-Blodgett film-forming characteristics of 4-HANS and its mixtures with stearic and 22-tricosenoic acid.
