What is already known on the topic?
• The benefits in terms of reduced injury risk from engaging in IPEPs are well known.
• Practitioners are aware of a need for IPEPs, but engagement rates still vary.
• IPEPs in their current form may need some form of modification to facilitate their use in the professional game.
What can this study add?
To make strategic, evidence-based suggestions towards IPEP implementation in professional football, from which practitioners can consistently deliver their own IPEPs.
