Abstract
On 28 October 1995, the Politics of Law and Order Group (PLOG), a specialist group of the Political Studies Association of the United Kingdom, organized a 1-day interdisciplinary conference on ‘The Politics and Policy of Law and Order: European Perspectives’ at the University of Portsmouth. The conference was organized around three themes: ‘Policing Europe’, ‘Prisons and Prisoners in Europe’, and ‘Researching Law and Order Policy’.
