    Abstract

This paper presents a new approach for the determination of cutting-force coefficients. The proposed methodology models a practical mechanism for collecting and analysing experimental data. The main advantage of the new method is that it provides the simulation process with instantaneous cutting-force coefficients, which are independent of the cutting operation geometry. This development has been used by other research studies: Liang, R.-J., Ye, W.-H., Huang, X “Three-dimensional stability predication for milling processes”, Sichuan Daxue Xuebao (Gongcheng Kexue Ban)/Journal of Sichuan University (Engineering Science Edition) 43 (3), pp. 219-224; Dotcheva, M., Millward, H.” A generation of more efficient CNC tool paths using simulation modelling “International Journal of Simulation Modelling 7 (3), pp. 135-145.
