This textbook aims to aid healthcare students with clear and effective learning support, designed to aid the student understand the core principles, theories, skills and knowledge within education. It will enhance the learning experience so the student can apply it effectively and build upon it for their initial studies and future practice. Supporting academic skills, allowing success in essay writing, research, reflection and critical appraisal with the need to understand evidence based practice and its essential importance. This text provides the necessary knowledge and guidance to enable students to cope with the rigours of education required for successful completion of their studies prior to registration as a practitioner. Obtaining the best out of education will allow and ease the transition into the workplace with confidence, being fully prepared to meet the needs for continued learning and appraisal of relevant evidence and thinking to enhance practice.
The book will also provide a supportive ‘aide memoir’ to post registration/qualified practitioners, requiring a refresher in study skills if they are about to undertake further, post registration studies to enhance and further their careers. It will also provide guidance for qualified, registered professionals, as all are required to continually learn and develop both skills and knowledge, as their career progresses and indeed the requirement for re-validation comes around. There will be information within this text that will help to guide and inform all healthcare practitioners who are required to research, audit, write and learn for progression and career development.
A clinician is a professional that never gave up, life is a continuous learning cycle gaining experience. You fail only if you give up and not take advantage!
