Abstract

This report reviews the changing role, organisation, and services delivered by Jobcentre Plus and assesses the institutional capacity of the British Public Employment Service. It draws on findings from a rapid review of quantitative and qualitative research studies complemented by interviews with selected respondents in the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), Jobcentre Plus and private providers. The report was commissioned by the International Labour Organisation and the findings were presented at a conference in Beijing in 2018.
