    Abstract

    This report outlines work undertaken in 2011 and 2012 as part of the
    Challenging Lock‐in through Urban Energy Systems (CLUES) project
    funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council
    (EPSRC), grant number EP/1002170/1 under the Sustainable Urban
    Environments Programme Phase 3. We are grateful to Yvonne Rydin,
    other CLUES team members, and the technical panel for their review and
    comment on work described in this report. Nevertheless, the views
    expressed are those of the authors alone and we are, of course,
    responsible for all errors and omissions.
