Abstract

This text explores the relationship between compositional procedures and construction methods. It aims, in particular, to reaffirm the expressive potential of construction by reasserting tectonics as a principle intrinsic to architecture itself, in contrast to the contemporary tendency to derive the legitimacy of architectural works from discourses external to the discipline.
