Understanding the effects of organisational change in professional soccer

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapter (peer-reviewed)peer-review

Abstract

The desire for success in modern day elite soccer at both a club, and international level, increasingly leads to organizational issues, with the most prominent being continual organizational change. In this chapter the authors consider the recent literature that has examined the consequences of organizational change on the organization at a holistic level, the impact on the individuals who remain within it, and the perceived benefits to performance. Findings of recent studies are also considered to suggest future researcher opportunities and the salient considerations for practitioners operating within such dynamic, often outcome focused, and, success hungry environments.
