Wedlock: an autobiographical collection

Memory is complex. It is a landscape full of contradictions; it is both real and it is fiction, it is reliable and unreliable, it is lucid and yet fragmented, it is individual but can be universal. It epitomise a whole host of things: traces, layers, residues and legacies of past and present. We may need to remember and contemplate the past to make sense of the present and, in turn, to evaluate the present to make sense of the past. 'Wedlock' is an edited collection of objects and text, which link to a sense of ritual and space based upon personal memory and narrative. I have never collected as a 'collector', but I save, accumulate, find, relish and hoard. Objects I own evoke specific memories which, in turn, can evoke a simultaneous remembered incident, space or time, varying in form from the most miniscule to the monumental.
