Abstract

Education, training and employment are crucial in Key facts helping to reduce reoffending. In 2010, 66% of offenders without qualifications were reconvicted within a year of leaving prison compared with 45% of those with qualifications. And in 2008, 74% of prisoners with employment and accommodation problems were reconvicted a year after release compared with 43% without such problems.
