    Abstract

Welcome to the inaugural issue of Zino Loci, a collaborative art zine project hosted by the Zineopolis art zine collection. In this 36 page zine, we invited students and alumni from the University of Portsmouth, UK, and Chulalongkorn University, Thailand, to submit visual responses to the theme of Guilt/Shame. Our initial discussions revolved around
exploring whether there are differences between European and Asian concepts of guilt and shame, considering cultural perspectives.

Do these emotions manifest and affect us in similar ways? Through a diverse range of visual responses, comics, and sequences, this zine delves into the intricate nature of these complex human emotions. The aim of this zine is to showcase and promote artists, visual communicators, and storytellers from both countries, while providing a platform for discussing challenging subjects and experiences.

Join us as we embark on a journey through the artistic expressions that shed light on the depths of guilt and shame. Welcome to Zino Loci, where art becomes a gateway to understanding and conversation.
