Dr Nick Koor and Dr Andy Gibson were appointed by Lovell Partnership Ltd (Lovell) to give independent advice on anomalous ground conditions identified initially during archaeological investigations carried out in 2014.
The scope of the appointment is to act as an engineering geology and geotechnical engineering advisor to Lovell in support of the Larkhill Housing Development. In particular advice is sort in relation to: appropriate ground investigation methodology and techniques to constrain the suspected sink-hole features identified at the site; review work carried out for Lovell by others of an engineering geological or geotechnical nature and to report on the appropriateness of any recommendations; advise on earthworks and foundation options and review foundation design solutions to mitigate the sink-hole hazard.
