Dr Andrew Burbanks (Participant), 4 Mar 2020 → 6 Mar 2020
Participant at a meeting on "Opportunities at the Intersection of Science and Art", sponsored by the National Science Foundation and the Isaac Newton Institute. Exploring areas in which the mathematical sciences and physics intersects the arts. This follows the 2017 Isaac Newton Institute four month long programme on Growth, Form, and Self-Organization, inspired by the 100th anniversary of the seminal book by D’Arcy Thompson, On Growth and Form.
"We have invited a small and select group from across these disciplines to discuss this fascinating and important area. Our group includes mathematicians and physicists interested in broader impacts of their disciplines, computer imaging scientists and innovators, architects and visual artists who either incorporate scientific ideas or rely on natural phenomena in their creative process."
