Translation and Interpreting Career Day
Around 100 college students visited the School of Languages on 2 March to learn about translation and interpreting as a profession and participate in taster workshops. The event in the morning, aimed at college students, was supported by Routes into Languages, a governmental initiative funded by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE). The afternoon sessions, supported by the Institute of Translation and Interpreting, were aimed mainly at undergraduate and postgraduate students thinking of joining the profession, although they were also open to the general public.
