Summary

Summary

I am a Senior Teaching Fellow at Portsmouth Law School, with an interest in the development of personal tutoring provision in the Law School. I teach across all three years of the undergraduate degrees and am responsible for organising and delivering Induction activities for each new cohort of law students.

Bibliography

I graduated from the University of Oxford with a BA (Hons) Degree in Human Sciences, before going on to the College of Law in Guildford to complete my academic and professional qualifications as a solicitor. My career in the law began in the early 1990s when I worked as an assistant solicitor in the Civil & Commercial Litigation Department of a 'Magic Circle' law firm in the City of London. I have since worked for Local Authorities and Charities, joining the University of Portsmouth in 2012 as a part-time hourly paid lecturer in Portsmouth Law School.

I was appointed as a full-time Teaching Fellow in 2015,  becoming a Senior Teaching Fellow and Level 4 Tutor in 2017, and Senior Tutor in 2018.

Teaching Responsibilities

I teach English Legal System (ELS) at Level 4, Legal Writing & Research at Level 5 and Legal Project at Level 6 on the undergraduate Law LLB courses. I also teach Business & Employment Law and Legal Issues in Procurement & Supply (LIPS) modules to Level 5 Business students in the Business & Law Faculty. I am joint module coordinator for both ELS and LIPS. I have also taught Current Legal Issues and Criminal Law for Business in the past and have experience of teaching and coordinating law modules on postgraduate accountancy courses.
