Dr Alkistis Pourtsidou
Visiting Research Fellow
Biography
I am a Senior Research Associate at the ICG.
Previously I was a Research Assistant at Bologna University and Manchester University. My PhD studies were carried out at Nottingham University, my MSc studies at Durham University, and my undergraduate studies at the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens.
Research Interests
My main research interest at the moment is 21-cm cosmology, and in particular the use of the HI intensity mapping method across a wide range of redshifts in order to probe the evolving history of the Universe and study dark energy. I am also working on the construction, parametrisation and observational signatures of Interacting Dark Energy theories, and on the evolution and cosmological implications of Cosmic Superstrings with junctions. I am a member of the SKA Science Working Group (Cosmology), the EUCLID consortium and the BINGO collaboration.
