Dr Claire Ancient
I am a research student in Human Computer Interaction in the School of Computing, University of Portsmouth. I gained an MSc in Information Systems in 2012 and a BSc in Mathematics with Computing in 2011, both at the University of Portsmouth.
I have previously taught Mathematics for Business at the International College in Portsmouth, and currently provide students support within practical classes for Computer Architecture and Network Fundamentals.
My research interests lie in using technology to improve the quality of life and the well-being of people living at home with dementia and their family care-givers. My expertise lies in user centred design and evaluation using participatory methodologies to ensure usability, accessibility, user enjoyment and technology adoption.
Recently, I have been providing usability and accessibility consultancy services.
