Fatema Zaghloul


I am a lecturer in Digital Business Systems at the University of Portsmouth Business School. I graduated from the University of Leeds with a BSc in Management (First Class with Honours), an MSc in Information Systems and Information Management (Distinction), and a PhD in Information Systems. My doctoral research investigated how UK emergency services manage inter-organisational collaboration in terms of information systems and information technologies. 

Research Interests

My research broadly explores the development and implementation of collaborative information systems between organisations, including the ways multiple organisations collaborate to align and harmonize their information systems and information technology environments. My research also focuses on understanding the inter-relationship between disruptive and emerging technologies, people, work practices, and decision-making.

My research findings were presented at several prominent conferences including the European Conference of Information Systems (ECIS), and the European Group for Organizational Studies (EGOS).

Teaching Responsibilities

I teach and coordinate the modules on 'Electronic and Mobile Commerce’, ‘Digital Technology and Innovation’, and ‘Digital Business Applications’. My teaching responsibilities also include delivering lectures in and across subject groups of the Faculty in modules such as Enterprise Systems and Processes, Business Logistics ManagementBusiness PlanningInformation Systems Strategy and Management. In addition, I am supervising a number of undergraduate, and postgraduate students.
