Mrs Gilly Mancz

Gilly Mancz

I am an experienced adult nurse, health visitor and specialist safeguarding nurse with recent clinical experience in a multiagency safeguarding team.

Prior to starting my role as lecturer at the University of Portsmouth in August 2016, I have worked as a Specialist Safeguarding Nurse within an innovative multiagency team working with children at risk of or experiencing going missing, being sexually exploited or trafficked. Within this team, my role involved leading on the health agenda, working at Tier 4 of Children’s Services (Child Protection/Child in Need), raising awareness of MET (missing, sexual exploitation and trafficking) issues and working alongside children affected by MET.

My background includes adult nursing within trauma and orthopaedics and acute medicine. I am passionate about public health and early intervention, and this is what led me to further develop my nursing skills by completing my health visitor training.

I was appointed to the role of Lecturer in the University of Portsmouth in August 2016 as a member of the Bachelor of Nursing programme team.
