Henry Pearce


Henry is a senior lecturer in law at the University of Portsmouth, and is the deputy editor for Computer Law & Security Review (CLSR) an international journal of technology and law and practice, providing a major platform for publication of high quality research, policy and legal analysis within the field of IT law and computer security. In 2015 the journal was the first of its kind in the world to be indexed in the Thomson Reuters Journal Citation Reports for Social Sciences.

He completed an LLB (Hons) at the University of Reading in 2011, and an LLM in Regulation and Technology at King’s College London in 2012 with a grade of distinction and an award for best in year. He is also a member of the Institute for Law and the Web at the University of Southampton (ILAWS) where he is in the process of completing his doctoral studies. He also provides freelance consultancy services to a range of firms based in the South and London areas of the UK.

Henry’s research primarily focuses on data protection law and policy, and has published a number of articles in the field. He is also interested in IT law, media law, and the interplay between law and emerging technologies more generally.
