Hidaya Al Lawati



Hidaya is Accounting Lecturer in Sultan Qaboos University, College of Economic & Political Sciences and has been with the department of Accounting since 2007. Hidaya’s research interests are in the area of corporate governance, audit committee effectiveness and characteristics and financial accounting. Hidaya teaches courses in the area of management accounting, financial accounting, and auditing. She holds Master of Commerce in Accounting from the University of New South Wales, Australian School of Business, and Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Sultan Qaboos University. Hidaya’s strengths are her knowledge of cost analysis and her analytical ability in corporate governance effectiveness.

Hidaya is currently a full time PhD student in Accounting and Financial Management, “Audit Committee Overlapping, Disclosure Quality and Financial Performance in Oman”, supervised by Prof. Khaled Hussainey & Dr. Roza Sagitova, University of Portsmouth, UK

Teaching Responsibilities

  5. Undertaking appropriate departmental administrative and management tasks
