Biography
I am a senior lecturer in the subject group of Economics and Finance. I was awarded a PhD degree in Economics by the University of Portsmouth for my thesis entitled: 'Essays on macroeconometric modelling: Housing and financial markets in the light of inflation targetting monetary policy. Evidence from the United Kingdom'. I hold an MSc. in Financial Analysis (University of Piraeus, Greece, Department of Banking and Financial Management), an MBA (University of Piraeus, Greece, Department of Business Administration), as well as, a BSc. in Economics and Regional Development (Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences, Athens, Greece).
I have previously worked as a business consultant for Citibank plc. in Greece.
Research Interests
My main research areas of interest are empirical finance and applied macroeconomics. I am particulalry interested in international financial markets, energy markets and environmental finance, macroeconomic policy uncertainty, as well as, real estate economics.
Recent research includes the following:
- Exchange rate spillovers,
- Volatility determinants in commodity markets,
- Housing prices and portfolio management,
- Financial risk coordination,
- Unconventional monetary policy.
I am happy to receive informal enquiries relating to PhD supervision in the areas of empirical finance and applied macroeconomics.
Teaching Responsibilities
I teach on a variety of modules in the area of financial economics, econometrics and data analysis across the Faculty of Business and Law.
