Ms Michela Scalpello
Michela is a Teaching Fellow within the Criminal Justice Studies. Her area of expertise is Penology, mostly offender rehabilitation and resettlement. Michela has worked at HMP/YOI Bronzeield, a closed women's prison in Ashford, UK in the past. She has visited a number of European prisons including Rebbiba Prison in Rome, Zweibrücken Prison in Germany, The Pathways Centre in Dublin as well as Mountjoy, also in Dublin. She has also conducted various research activities at Corradino Correctional Services, Malta's only prison.
Michela has been involved in a number of European Projects, the lastest being FAIR (Fighting Against Inmate Radicalisation) and SkillHUBS. She is also a member on two Working Groups - one on Formal Education in Prison and another on Employment for Inmates - within a European Social Fund Project (P4E@CCF).
Michela has an active interest on anything relating to prisons, as well as radicalisation and terrorism.
