Dr Penny Delf
As a senior academic in the School of Health Sciences and Social Work, I have gained a wide range of experience in lecturing and research. With academic achievements, including Masters and Doctoral level qualifications and as a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. I have developed and promoted through funded research a particular focus on eLearning.
Throughout my time in academia I have sought to maintain links with NHS partners, including membership of the Association of Paediatric Radiographers, British Nuclear Medicine Society and am currently Vice Chair for the Society and College of Radiographers Nuclear Medicine Advisory Committee.
In addition, I am regularly act on behalf of my College for course approval processes and reviewer for advanced/consultant practitioner applications. I also actively review for professional journals and have contributed to a number of conference and academic publications.
My research interests include aspects of the design and development of eLearning resources and its potential within healthcare education. Current research concentrates on the development of ‘intelligent’ e-based resources to benefit practitioners working within a range of health-related disciplines.
In addition, with a focus on diagnostic imaging outcomes and evidence based practice, I am also involved with a scoping project to assess optimal imaging methods for diagnosing early onset arthritis in hip referral patients.
