55 minute film project documenting cultural exchange project where a group of female carpenters from the UK teach a group of rural Swazi women woodworking skills using peer teaching techniques in all female working environment. Filmed on location in Swaziland.
Key findings
Findings relate to the film itself as well as the practice and process of filming. This was a hybrid student/professional project designed to address female avoidance attitudes to hands-on technology amongst female film students. Outcomes centre round issues of female peer to peer teaching, female 'techno-aversion' and the impact on 'gendered' professional roles.
