Evaluating the preparedness of newly-qualified nurses to engage with safety and quality issues at the point of entry to the register
This research forms part of the detailed evaluation of the quality and safety education embedded across the undergraduate nursing curriculum at the University of Portsmouth. The quality and safety education was delivered with the intention of ensuring that students understand their role within improving patient safety and care quality as newly-qualified nurses (NQNs), and are prepared to engage with these issues from the point of entry to the register. The aim of this research is to evaluate the preparedness of students entering the register having received structured quality and safety education.
To measure the preparedness of adult nursing students to engage with issues related to care quality and patient safety at the point of entry to the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) register.
