Spy Fever during the First World War

Project: Research

Description

Continuing my PhD research into popular emotions during the First World War, this project expands the parameters of my original thesis. By looking at how fear and paranoia manifested throughout 1914-1918, I hope to provide a fresh insight into the growth of antialienism during the First World War.

Layman's description

My research primarily focuses on how individual fears and collective anxieties developed towards the anticipated dangers of German espionage in Britain during the First World War.
