Description

The work began by investigating the use ofsimulation in teaching automation & robotics, including comparingindustrial simulation packages and In-House programming.  That work improved on the use of industrialCAD and simulation packages and led to the introduction of Imagineering topromote creativity in engineering education. New computer based training (CBT) systems were created during this earlywork for use in engineering education.

Work moved on to analyse the functioning ofthe School of Systems Engineering and led to the introduction of voluntaryassessment of lecturing skills.

That all led to work to investigate changesin the management of engineering education more widely within the UK.

Finally, the requirement for integrated andsystems engineers for the future was considered.
