A question of upbringing: the public school and the education of the English gentleman
Research output: Contribution to journal › Article › peer-review
Briefly charting on the history of the Public School in England, the article focuses on its presentations in literature, and here in particular Anthony Powell's 12-volume novel A Dance to the Music of Time. The article charts the formative experiences of the novel's protagonists at their public school (a thinly disguised Eton) and also draws parallel to Powell's own experiences.
