Government regulation in the United Kingdom private security industry: the myth of non-regulation
Research output: Contribution to journal › Article
This paper illustrates that despite a myth that there is no government regulation of the UK private security industry such regulation is in fact extensive. It illustrates examples of statutory and mandatory minimum standards, and of areas where the government actively promotes private security and specific standards; finally, it is pointed out that the government, as one of the most significant users of private security, has scope to influence standards.
