Private or public policing?
Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceeding › Chapter (peer-reviewed)
In this debate we consider the case for and against the pivatisation of the police. The first section considers the case for privatisation, including an overview of the nature of private sector involvement in the police service. The section then moves to outline a radical proposal for the privatisation of the police called 'extreme profitshire'. In the second section the case against privatisation is considered and an alternative model of provision is discussed.
