Research output: Contribution to conference › Paper
Expertise in design, science, technology, engineering, mathematics and business (D-STEM-B) are combined successfully in transdisciplinary design thinking groups to produce innovations to societal problems with wellbeing and co-design at the core. Four research proposals currently in progress are presented here: 1.Barrier Solutions – early warning systems for melanoma prevention; 2.DERMA - Design for Enabling Regenerative-Materials for chronic non-healing wounds; 3.LIGHT - integrating photodynamic therapy into antimicrobial smart would dressings and hospital textiles 4.RITA - Responsive Interactive Advocate a serious games avatar for elderly at home care. By their transdisciplinary nature the projects are expected to produce new types of holistic research and solutions using mixed methods for textiles and biomedical applications in the design, science and innovation arena.
